What could be better than turning the most memorable childhood memories into a mixture of enjoyment, hobby and business in adulthood? Three years ago, the Kapija Šumadija (Gate of Šumadija) winery was established in the Avala area and Šumadija is the heart of Serbia.

KAPIJA ŠUMADIJE WINERY

Growing up watching his grandfather pruning grapevines in a single vineyard, he probably didn’t even realize that he would follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. Currently, Kapija Šumadije or “The gate of Šumadija” in English, has a plantation of 4,200 grapevines, and its founder aspires to establish a large vineyard plantation. Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominant variety, with around 400 Chardonnay saplings also present. It’s the third year, but only the first harvest. Just like Rome wasn’t built in a day, the winery is growing steadily, taking determined and sure steps. The next challenges include designing labels and preparing for exhibitions. When the motivation for work and progress is your family, success is always guaranteed. His daughter, son, and grandchildren ensure that the winery is always full of life, and Milorad wishes for them to inherit a successful business and an oasis of hedonism.
